THE WAY OF THE ORACLE:
RECOVERING THE PRACTICES OF THE PAST TO FIND ANSWERS FOR TODAY
By Diana L Paxson
Paperback: 272 pages
Publisher: Weiser Books (March 1, 2012)
List Price: $21.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Throughout history, the uncertainties of life have driven people to seek counsel from prophets, seers, and oracles on everything from love to livelihood: people want to talk to their lost loved ones, heal old family traumas, find out about work, and determine what the future will bring.

In The Way of the Oracle, bestselling author, scholar, and priestess Diana L. Paxson offers a broad overview of the traditions of famous oracles in history: from the pythia at Delphi, the son of Beor, the Irish druidess, and the Greenland völva, to today's modern seers who are resurrecting ancient skills to serve their communities.

Paxson identifies the core elements of prophetic practice, her belief in probability rather than predestination, and offers exercises and examples to demonstrate how anyone can be trained to do oracle work. Her methods focus on trance skills and improving communication between one's unconscious and conscious mind to encourage self-knowledge and decision making.

The Way of the Oracle introduces the practice of oracle work to a wider audience, and shows how exploring the potential of other minds can expand our own.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Diana L. Paxson is the author of nearly three dozen novels, including Marion Zimmer Bradley's Ravens of Avalon and several works of spiritual nonfiction, including Taking Up the Runes. She has been a practicing priestess for nearly thirty years and is well known as a spiritual leader and teacher. She lectures and conducts workshops in North America and Europe. She lives in Berkeley, CA. Visit her at www.diana-paxson.com.

UNDINES: LESSONS FROM THE REALM OF THE WATER SPIRITS
By William R. Mistele
Paperback: 320 pages
Publisher: North Atlantic Books (July 6, 2010)
List Price: $18.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Undines—from the Latin root unda, which means “wave”— are water elementals, or spirits of the water world. Like their fellow elementals—salamanders (fire), sylphs (air), and gnomes (earth)—undines are united with, and personify, their element. First mentioned in the alchemical works of medieval botanist Paracelsus, undines appear throughout European folklore. Who are these mysterious creatures of lakes, oceans, and waterfalls?

Undines takes readers directly into the water spirits’ realm through stories, personal encounters, and interviews with such luminaries as Istiphul, the undine queen whose presence embodies the magical essence of the feminine. Whether seen as fact or fairy tale, Undines presents archetypal truths and insights into human nature. The powers and abilities that undines display are latent in us all and crucial to humanity’s evolution (or mere survival): harmony with nature, empathy and compassion, a deep capacity to love, and a cooperative rather than combative relationship to the world. Undines will appeal broadly to readers of mythology, fantasy, and fairy tales, particularly to practitioners that work with nature spirits and elemental beings—Druids, Wiccans, pagans, and those interested in magic and mysticism.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
William R. Mistele has devoted himself to the study and practice of many of the world’s spiritual traditions. Since 1975 he has been a student of Franz Bardon’s teachings on Hermetic magic, a system of training that includes the evocation of and communication with nature spirits. He holds a BA in Philosophy from Wheaton College and an MA in Linguistics from the University of Arizona. He
lives in Honolulu.

PRIESTESS OF THE FIRE TEMPLE: A DRUID'S TALE
By Ellen Evert Hopman
Paperback: 288 pages
Publisher: Llewellyn Publications (March 8, 2012)
List Price: $18.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
The Priestess of the Fire Temple follows Princess Aislinn, red-haired wild child of the High King of the Central Kingdom, as she makes her way in a world increasingly hostile to those who are not Christian. Raised in a community that observed both Pagani and Cristaidi mores, Druid-trained Aislinn is married off at age fourteen to a prince from Irardacht, the Northern Kingdom. Escaping her unhappy marriage, Aislinn finds herself engaged in a series of dangerous adventures and fateful encounters on her quest for true love. This uniquely Pagan novel explores the basic beliefs of the Indo-European Celts and the Druid path in an engaging and powerful way.

NEW TAROT

THE MANDALA ASTROLOGICAL TAROT CARDS AND BOOK
By A. T. Mann
Paperback: 128 pages
Publisher: Sterling; Pap/Crds edition (October 6, 2009)
List Price: $14.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER: There are many tarot sets on the market—but not one like this! The first thing you’ll notice about this unique book-and-card set is the deck’s square shape, which allows each card to be positioned facing not just two, but all four cardinal points of the compass: this provides readings of great depth and accuracy. Then, the original design eliminates the conventional human figures of the tarot, replacing them with mandala images that aid meditation. What’s more, the 22 major arcane signs are divided into three groups corresponding to the signs of the zodiac, the elements, and the planets. This spiritually aware approach to the tarot provides a remarkable new set of tools for understanding the forces that shape our lives.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
A. T. Mann is a noted astrologer, architect, artist, and prolific author. His books include The Divine Life: Astrology and Divination (2002) and The Future of Astrology (2004).

TAROT READINGS / SPIRITUAL ADVICE

UNCOMMONSENSE TAROT
Tarot readings by Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

" I've been reading Tarot for more than thirty years, and reading professionally
at the Edge for a decade. My belief is that Tarot is best used for
putting you in touch with your own subconscious, allowing you to make healthy
decisions that can change your life for the better. My readings tend to be
rather commonsensical (hence the name) and are geared toward helping the client
circumvent the often self-imposed obstacles in their lives, so that they can
achieve their goals and fully enjoy the fruits that life has to bring."

Please inquire about Tarot Parties, classes and other events.
Available every day except THURSDAYS-- 12:30-8.30PM.
Sundays 12:30-8:30 PM
