Paperback, 352 pages

List Price: $24.99

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

A guided initiation to becoming an adept in Vampyre energy magick

• Explains how a Vampyre is not a blood-sucking mythical figure but a shaman who is skilled in gathering, using, and storing energy for magical power and personal liberation

• Reveals how to gather and store energy from the world around you and shares magical techniques, manifestation methods, and practices to utilize the energy you have collected

• Looks at servitors and familiars, vampyric runes, dream architecture, money magick practices, and sex magick techniques as well as advanced practices such as healing with vampyric magick

In this initiatory guide, Don Webb explains how to learn from the myth of the vampire to gather, use, and store energy for magical power, manifestation, and personal liberation. A Master of the Order of the Vampyre within the Temple of Set, the author shares a 9-month process to awaken and initiate you as a Vampyre and allow you to actualize your hidden potential.

Webb begins by explaining how to gather energy from the world around you and store it in the body, in artifacts and talismans, and in groups of people, such as a coven. Through the 9 stages of initiation, the author offers guided magical techniques, manifestation methods, and experiments to utilize the energy you have learned to gather and store. He also examines familiars, Vampyric runes, money magick practices, and sex magic techniques. Sharing more advanced practices, Webb looks at the creation and destruction of egregores and how to fight off psychic vampires—those who steal your power and energies. LIBER SIGILLUM:

Of the Lords Who Wander

by Gary St. M. Nottingham

Avalonia Publishing,  (March 14, 2021)

Paperback, 138 pages, with numerous seals and photos of the author's work.

List Price: $24.99

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

“The talisman I created using the very methods Gary has outlined in this book helped guide me, inevitably, to both my inner and outer gold.  It took me on a journey to arrive at my own microcosmic sun.”  - Benjamin Turale, The Temple of Mercury

An essential practical guide to the art of talismanic magick, Liber Sigillum expertly guides you through the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to incorporate the creation and empowerment of planetary, elemental and angelic talismans into your work. A talisman can act as a battery of power for the magician, emanating will and intent across planes of existence as well as the everyday world. Just as fascinating for the curious newcomer as the experienced practitioner, this critical but often overlooked aspect of the Western Magickal Corpus is made accessible to all. Author Gary St. Michael Nottingham translates his many years of valuable practical experience into clear and straightforward practical exercises and examples.

Drawing on the age-old wisdom of the Corpus Hermeticum, grimoires, Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy and the Picatrix, this exceptional work not only teaches methods for the physical creation of talismans, the importance of the celestial conditions and how to call upon both angelic and demonic powers as necessary, but also the crucial nature of personal emotional engagement and focus. The author's experience shines through the original development of techniques he shares in this volume in print for the first time. Whether you are just starting on a ritual magic path or are a seasoned practitioner of witchcraft and the occult yourself, Liber Sigillum is bound to become a treasured and oft-consulted companion.

“We are created in the likeness of God therefore those powers which make up God are expressed within ourselves, even if they lie dormant or are not apparent.  It is this which allows us to approach the realms of the Gods, and like Prometheus 'steal their Fire' as we challenge our fate with the very powers of the Gods themselves.  No other being in creation can do this... for it is the fate of man to challenge the Gods, even with their own power. For mankind is not a snivelling wretch, burdened with sin and Christian guilt, but a glorious being made in the image of God and bearing his powers. Therefore let us not forget how the Corpus Hermeticum tells us.... ‘For the human is a God-like living thing...’ ”

- Gary St. Michael Nottingham in Liber  Sigillum

About the Author:

Gary St. M. Nottingham’s commitment to the study and practice of the alchemical arte, ritual magic, grimoires and spirit conjuration means that he can often be found peering at bubbling flasks or a shewstone – or otherwise engaged in deepening his knowledge and understanding of such matters.  His practices also draw on the work of the 17th-century astrologer William Lilly and the arte of horary astrology.

He organised the legendary Ludlow Esoteric Conference (2004-2008), helped produce Verdelet occult magazine, has taught many free day workshops on basic occult skills and is a popular speaker at esoteric conferences.

The seven volumes of Foundations of Practical Sorcery are an unabridged collection of Gary’s much sought-after previously published work, updated and made available to a wider readership at last.  Ars Alchemica, Ars Angelorum and Liber Sigillum may be seen as companion volumes to this central work.

Gary was raised in south Shropshire, where, during his mid-teens, he became involved with a small Coven, thereby gaining an excellent grounding in a wide selection of magical practices.   Following the conjuration of a spirit, and asking it for help that manifested when least expected, he subsequently became involved with a group of practising alchemists.

He has a background in horticulture, enjoys spending time in the garden and playing chess.

PRECIOUS APOTHECARY:

A Catholic Grimoire

by José Leitão

Paperback , 352 pages

Avalonia Publishing, 12/10/2020

List Price: $40.00

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

A Catholic Grimoire compiled from the writings of Ângelo Sequeira, for the acquisition and sustenance of Grace, the Blessing of the Virgin, the succour of her Divine Son our Lord, and the patronage of one hundred and twenty Saints.   English translation by José Leitão.

Precious Apothecary is a translation of Botica Preciosa, a Catholic Grimoire compiled by Ângelo de Sequeira Ribeiro do Prado (1707-1776) who was perhaps the most important Brazilian missionary in history. The Botica Preciosa (1754) was his first book and is a collection of prayers, devotions and exercises to the Lady of the Rock and 120 other Saints. Suffused with the author’s missionary purpose the book also contains the consecrations and blessings for oils, flowers, statues and food, as well as exorcisms and prayers for many ailments intended for situations where no priests were available. This is a leading work of pragmatic religious practice in which Sequeira addressed the devotional needs of the ordinary people, and thereby gained a significant following in both Portugal and Brazil.

This work presents an exceptional insight into practices outside the influence of a Protestant narrative, offering a window into the multifaceted world of baroque Catholicism, heresies, deviations and Rigorist movements within this. The Catholic Pantheon of Saints is introduced, together with its hierarchy and the techniques needed to access and work with them. The book also includes extensive instructions on the creation and consecration of the materia sacra/ magica, rarely found outside of liturgical literature.

This grimoire presents a system which will appeal to Catholics (and other Christians) with an interest in magic, and those exploring pre-contemporary forms of spirit work from within a Christian framework. It is likewise essential reading for occult scholars and practising magicians interested in exploring Christian Magic, seeking sources for folk magic and expanding their knowledge of the grimoire tradition.

BREAKING CHAINS

The Evolution of the Black Madonna

by Nic Phillips

Paperback, 240 pages,  6.14 x 9.21in or 234 x 156mm (Royal 8vo) Case Laminate with colour illustrations

Publisher, :Avalonia (February 26, 2021)

List Price: $24.99

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

In this exceptional study of the Black Madonna, author, scholar and artist Nic Philips leads you on a pilgrimage through the history, myth, practice and modern relevance of her many images around the world and asks astute questions about how they have been interpreted and misinterpreted over the centuries. As though restoring the artefacts themselves, he gently strips away layers of supposition and imposition to show the truth beneath, but also looks to the value of the later meanings and significance accrued by these sacred portrayals of a Black Virgin.

Starting with one of the most famous of her statues in Chartres, France and then casting light on the less explored phenomenon of syncretic worship within the African and Indian diasporas, we learn how the mysterious Black Madonna became equated with Dark Goddesses such as Kali, the primal fury of the Vodou Lwa Ezili Dantor , and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.  Taking us into an in-depth exploration of a figure who has been interpreted as both Mary Magdalene and various Orisha, this expertly-researched book shows what a powerful figure this Dark Mother remains throughout the world as a symbol of the strength and liberation of the oppressed.

Whilst many existing books on this subject have focused mainly on myths which have grown within the European Grail tradition, Breaking Chains embraces both a personal journey and an objective approach to finding the real power behind the Black Madonna, not only mythically and historically but politically. In a fascinating and accessible work, including his own extraordinary paintings inspired by statues and stories around the world, Nic Phillips shows that the Black Madonna is the focus for a living, breathing, evolving movement, and is perhaps even more relevant today than ever before.

About the Author:

Nic Phillips is an English artist and writer with a degree in History and Archaeology from Cardiff University.  He spent 12 years in Wales, before moving to Glastonbury, Somerset, to work at one of his most cherished heritage destinations, Glastonbury Abbey. Nic began exploring the landscape of the West Country from a young age with regular holidays in Cornwall which would eventually inspire some of the paintings in his book Celtic Saints of Western Britain (Avalonia, 2015). After illustrating two tarot decks with Kim Huggens exploring the Divine Masculine and Feminine, entitled Sol Invictus and Pistis Sophia, Nic developed his art on a larger scale.  He launched Nic Phillips Sacred Art and studying and creating Eastern-inspired icons, alongside depictions of the Goddess, as well as numerous saints, in a distinctive modern style.

All of his artwork can be purchased as prints, cards, and more, directly from the artist through his website, Facebook, and Etsy store.
