SPECIAL EVENTS AND CLASSES:

Friday, July 15 at 6 PM - 8 PM

On Friday, July 15th, from 6:00-8:00, there will be a reception with non-alcoholic food and drink (and cookies), followed by a lecture about the role of the Aerial Spirits in relation to the anonymous material included in the 1665 edition of “The Discoverie of Witchcraft”. The lecture starts at 7:00.

The tradition of conjuring aerial spirits, which are called upon in a number of grimoires, including the Heptameron and the Sworn book of Honorious, intersects with the material in a number of surprising ways. It’s wedded by the authors both to the Enochian system of John Dee and to previous pagan traditions regarding spirits of the air. Although lesser known than other categories of spirits, the work with aerial spirits is a crucial link in reconstructing the mindset and actions of the grimoire magicians of the early modern world.

The Magitians Discovered” is a three volume set of books that centers on anonymous additions that were added to the 1665 edition of Reginald Scot’s “The Discoverie of Witchcraft”. Although the argument of Scot’s original Discoverie was skeptical, Scot included enough examples of practical magic that the book became popular with practitioners. The publishers of the 1665 edition included a treatise on the world of the supernatural, elemental spirits, demons, and ghosts, as well as nine chapters of ritual material to the text, most likely to make the book more appealing to practitioners.

The Magitians Discovered” reprints this added text, which has been out of print for over a century, along with other relevant chapters from Scot’s original, dealing with ritual magic and charms, as well as contemporary texts from the 17th century that help to shed light on the 1665 Discoverie.

Volume 1 of “Magitians Discovered” consists of an analysis of the anonymous text.

Volume 2 consists of the texts themselves and other writings by Scot.

Volume 3 consists of the supplementary texts.

ADEPT MAGIC IN THE GOLDEN DAWN TRADITION
By Frater YshY
Paperback: 200 pages
Publisher: Kerubim Press (September 30, 2014)
List Price: $21.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Explore the Magical Path of the Chameleon. Within this tome are the secret instructional papers of a modern Golden Dawn order. The first half of the book contains an advanced exegesis of the Neophyte Ceremony using Lurianic Kabbalah, Freemasonry, modern Wicca and Greek mythology. The second half includes the author's own application of the same magical formulae in his personal rituals. Among these are an example of his fusion of evocation and classical statue Theurgy, a careful interpretation and re-contextualisation of the Adept invisibility formula with new advanced visualizations, a Shamanic-style transformation ritual, and a higher genius or "higher self" working that the author personally conducted over many years.

FROM THE BACK OF THE BOOK/REVIEWS:

"Adept Magic in the Golden Dawn Tradition by Frater YShY is a fine addition to the corpus of work that is being created by twenty-first century adepts. ... The author's 'Zeta Documents' are built upon the foundational Z-documents of the original order; their study cannot help but enrich the experience of modern practitioners."

-- Chic Cicero & Sandra Tabatha Cicero
Chief Adepts of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn
Authors of The Essential Golden Dawn

"This text will stand for years to come as an example par excellence of the work that should be undertaken by every individual Adept of the Golden Dawn Tradition. Every Adept should have this book in their library."

-- Aaron Leitch
Senior Adept of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn
Author of The Essential Enochian Grimoire

"Adept Magic in the Golden Dawn Tradition is the sort of hard teaching that anyone who follows this tradition needs to know and contemplate if they are going to understand the Mysteries of the Magic of Light. Beginners need to read it to begin to understand the depth of the path on which they are treading. This book is proof that the Golden Dawn tradition is still a largely uncharted region with many more discoveries to be made."

-- Nick Farrell
Chief Adept of the Magical Order of Aurora Aurea
Author of Magical Imagination: The Keys to Magic

"Even after nearly twenty years of working through the teachings and material of the Golden Dawn Tradition, I was and continue to be astounded by the nature of the work presented here. This is the sort of thing that proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Golden Dawn Tradition is a living, growing, breathing magical and spiritual tradition."

-- Samuel Scarborough
Senior Adept of the Ordo Stella Matutina

LIFTING THE VEIL:
A Witches' Guide to Trance-Prophesy, Drawing Down the Moon, and Ecstatic Ritual
By Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone
Paperback: 252 pages
Publisher: Acorn Guild Press(June 1, 2016)
List Price: $19.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Written to fill an existing gap in the current available knowledge on trance, prophesy, deity-possession, and mediumship within the neo-Pagan and Wiccan communities, Lifting the Veil was developed from Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone’s personal work and public workshops on trance-prophesy and ecstatic ritual over the last 20 years. The book covers the history and modern practice of trance as well as the methods of practice, including ecstatic ritual, drawing down the moon, sex magic, and working with the spirits of the dead. It also explores the Four Keys, which include the importance of understanding mythical cosmology and psychology, understanding the role of energy in trance, the nature of spirits and deity, and understanding what trance is and the techniques involved. Because trance-prophesy is a very subjective process, the book includes descriptions of the personal experiences of others and transcriptions from several independent sessions by modern seers and priestesses.

Many texts have appeared, offering to explain this mysterious subject, but few do so as succintly as this book. The Qabalah: Beyond the Veil aims to lift the lid on this extraordinary tradition, utilised by Jews, Christians and Hermeticists. LEGENDS OF INCENSE, HERB, AND OIL MAGIC:

By Lewis de Claremont, catherine yronwode (Editor), S. Quinlan (Illustrator)
Paperback: 96 pages
Publisher: Lucky Mojo Curio Company (May 14, 2016)
List Price: $9.95

From 1936, when it burst on the scene, until 2006, when it went out of print, Legends of Incense, Herb, and Oil Magic was an occult shop classic. The first non-academic book that taught African American hoodoo folk magic, it was advertised in Black-owned newspapers nationwide and became many a rural rootworker's introduction to the convenience of mail-order spiritual supplies. The author, whose name was certainly not "Lewis de Claremont" took the secret of his identity to the grave, but the formulas he introduced and his descriptions of down-home tricks with herbs, candles, incense, powders, baths, and talismans are recognized as the foundation of modern hoodoo. On the 80th anniversary of its original publication, the Lucky Mojo Curio Company is proud to present a restored and revised edition of this important text, edited by catherine yronwode. Filled with curious lore and useful tips, this beautifully illustrated book belongs in every conjure worker's library.
