OUTER GATEWAYS
By Kenneth Grant, Edited by Michael Staley
London: Starfire Publishing, 2015.
Limited Enhanced Edition. A Fine Hardcover Volume in dust jacket.
The volume is sewn for durability, and matches the earlier enhanced editions in the Trilogies series.
List Price: $59.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
The republishing of the enhanced editions of the Typhonian Trilogies continues with the release of the seventh volume in the series, OUTER GATEWAYS, which opens the third and final trilogy. The Typhonian Tradition discussed in this book matured and declined before even the monumental phase of the earliest civilizations though remaining in the magical and mystical lore once current in Egypt, and the Far East, and in the later alchemical writings in the West, and in the Eastern Tantric tradition. The earliest themes of Grant's series of Trilogies are emphasized and developed in this volume with material on the unearthly provenance of such disturbing messages as 'The Necronomicon' is reaffirmed, which leads into a discussion of Crowley's reception of 'The Book of the Law', and a reinterpretation of that book's implications in the light of the Typhonian Tradition. The volume concludes with the haunting transmission -- Wisdom of S'lba -- received in New Isis Lodge under circumstances outside usually accepted magical procedures.

ARS VERCANUS:
Advanced Magickal Techniques
by Vasilios Wennergren , Lynn Wennergren
Paperback: 420 pages
Publisher: Megalithica Books (November 14, 2014)
List Price: $22.99

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
For as long as humanity has existed, there have been those skilled in the occult arts.

Such individuals are capable of transforming the self, perceiving the subtle aspect of existence, and affecting reality via nonphysical means. In every culture, across every era, shamans, magi, mystics, and seers have refined their arts. This has produced a rich and varied collection of magickal techniques and rituals.

Ars Vercanus presents a comprehensive system of core magickal techniques and theories distilled from an in-depth cross-cultural analysis of various magickal traditions. The theories of Vercanus Magick impart a deep understanding of how magick actually works. Vercanus techniques clearly delineate methods by which magick may be effectively performed. This style of magick entails a profound shifting of consciousness, facilitating an enhanced perception of reality. Through this expanded consciousness the practitioner perceives the deeper aspects of reality within which magick occurs. The techniques of Vercanus Magick entail the mastering of consciousness and internal energies. This mastery induces a profound transformation in the magus. Thus transformed, the magus is capable of shaping reality at its deepest level.

ICELANDIC MAGIC:
Aims, tools and techniques of the Icelandic sorcerers
By Christopher Alan Smith
Paperback: 220 pages
Publisher: Avalonia (September 13, 2015)
List Price: $24.99

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
In this unprecedented work, the author Christopher A. Smith has meticulously studied no less than 6 original Icelandic manuscripts dating from 1500 to 1860 to extract a picture of the aims, tools and techniques of Icelandic sorcerers.

Set against the context of the harsh economic, social and environmental conditions of this North Atlantic island, the book gives a detailed account of the types of spells that were used and the motivations behind them. Hundreds of items from the six books of magic have been analysed to present the reader with a clear idea of the methods that were used, including incantation, invocation of deities and use of the enigmatic magical staves (galdrastafir).

Furthermore, the book goes into great detail concerning the physical tools used by magicians and the kinds of objects that might have been found in a sorcerer's 'toolbox'. The book is illustrated throughout with images from the original manuscripts. Although it is not intended by any means as a book of instruction, one chapter does focus on workings of certain types and gives suggestions for those brave enough to try them out. All in all, this work will be an indispensable item for anyone interested in the history of magic in general and of Icelandic magic in particular.

PRACTICAL ASTROLOGY FOR WITCHES AND PAGANS:
Using the Planets and the Stars for Effective Spellwork, Rituals, and Magickal Work
by Ivo Dominguez, Jr.
Paperback: 216 pages
Publisher: Weiser Books (January 1, 2016)
List Price: $18.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Learn How to Use the Planets and Stars in Your Magickal Work

More often than not, people think of astrology as a tool for divination or the exploration of one's personality. Astrology is considerably more than that. It is a sacred science, a highly descriptive symbolic language, and it is also a technology that can be applied to ritual, herbalism, the use of crystals, and much more.

But it can be daunting to take on the study of Astrology. After all, it's a field so huge it would take several lifetimes to master it. And that's why Ivo Dominguez, Jr., wrote this book--to provide practitioners of magick with a Pagan perspective on Astrology and the core concepts of Astrology that are most useful to building rituals and creating effective magick.

When we look at an astrological chart, what we are actually looking at is a map of the multiple planes of existence summarized and flattened into an understandable diagram--a kind of magickal cartogram. Now, what to do with this map? How can we best use it in our magickal work? That's precisely what you'll discover in the pages of this concise, focused, and expertly presented book.
