SPELL OF THE MONTH:

NINE OF PENTACLES SPELL
FOR WEALTH
By Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

The Nine of Pentacles tarot card is wonderful for attracting wealth,
particularly for people who'd like to have their own business,
or just would like to be financially independent.

Spell ingredients:
  • Photocopy of the Nine of Pentacles
  • Nine Sacajawea Dollars
  • Nine metallic gold mini candles
  • Wealth or Prosperity Oil
  • Wealth or Prosperity Sachet Powder
  • Wealth or Prosperity Incense
  • A picture (photocopy) representing the method you wish to use to attain your wealth,
(ex. A musical instrument for music, a computer for a tech job, a comb for a hairstylist, and so-on)
  • An Extra Large Lodestone
  • Gold Magnetic Sand
Additional Supplies:
  • A large brass plate (white or clear glass will do in a pinch)
  • A gold altar cloth
  • (optional) a large covered bowl
  • A pen with green or red ink
  • A red mini candle
Instructions:
Light the Wealth or Prosperity Incense

Lay your gold cloth on your altar. Put the brass plate on the altar, anoint it in the center with Wealth or Prosperity Oil.
Place the Nine Sacajawea Dollars on the plate in a circle about a ½' from the edge.
Anoint the Lodestone with the oil and place it in the center of the plate.
Take up your photocopy of the object representing your means of gaining wealth. With a red or green write on the back of it exactly what you wish to happen: (example;I earn wealth through my music.) Anoint it with oil and place it under the lodestone, with the photocopy of the Nine of Pentacles covering it.

Anoint all of the gold candles with a little oil; rub the oil upwards towards the wick to bring wealth to you. Roll each candle in the Wealth or Prosperity sachet powder. Light the red mini candle and drip a little melted wax onto one of the coins, and stick the bottom of one of the candles to it. Repeat this procedure , working clockwise until all the candles are mounted to the dollars.
Take a little of the magnetic sand and sprinkle it over the lodestone, and do the following:

Tell the lodestone to bring wealth by the means you have specified,
Pray the 23rd or the 111th Psalms or both.
Compose Words of Power statement: (Based on Marion Weinstien's Positive Magic)

There is one Power, which is perfect_____.
And I, ____, am a perfect manifestation of that Power.
I hereby draw to me only perfect ______, specifically as ____ resulting in ___.
I hereby release any cause, effect, form, manifestation, or essence of worry that may be preventing the free flow of ____ in my life,
And ultimate ____ is mine, here and now.
I work these words of Power
With perfect ease and perfect timing,
For the good of all,
According to the free will of all,
With harm to none,
And so it must be.

Light the first candle. Meditate on how you wish to bring wealth into your life. Do some goal setting and create a plan. Let the candle burn down completely. Then go on about your business until the next day. Repeat the lighting of the candles and sprinkling of the gold magnetic sand at the same time every day , if possible. It's very important to do this ritual nine days in a row. So, if you have to change times, that's okay-- just make sure to do the ritual every day until you've completed the nine day cycle.

When you have finished burning all of the candles, there are two ways to dispose of the spell. One, bury all the leftover spell materials in your front yard, to bring wealth and good fortune into your life. Save the plate and altar cloth for other rituals.

Urban method: place all the items from the spell except the plate and the altar cloth into a large covered bowl. Feed the lodestone with magnetic sand and Wealth or Prosperity oil every Sunday. You can also add Sacajawea Dollars (in groups of nine) every Sunday, to encourage your wealth to grow.

Much success in all your endeavors!

KALI KAULA -
A MANUAL OF TANTRIC MAGICK
by Jan Fries
Paperback: 576 pages
Publisher: Avalonia (September 8, 2010)
List Price:$39.99

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Kali Kaula is a practical and experiential journey through the land of living magickal art that is Tantra, guided by the incisive, inspired and multi-talented hands of Jan Fries. By stripping away the fantasies and exploring the roots, flowers and fruits of Tantra, the author provides an outstandingly effective and coherent manual of practices.
Acknowledging the huge diversity of Tantric material produced over the centuries, Jan Fries draws on several decades of research and experience and focuses on the early traditions of Kula, Kaula and Krama, and the result is this inimitable work which shines with the light of possibility.
Unique in style and content, this book is more than a manual of tantric magick, it is a guide to the exploration of the inner soul. It contains the most lucid discussions of how to achieve liberation in the company of numerous Indian goddesses and gods, each of whom brings their own lessons and gifts to the dedicated seeker. It is also an eloquent introduction to the mysteries of the great goddess Kali, providing numerous views of her manifold nature, and showing the immense but hidden role played throughout history by women in the development and dissemination of tantric practices and beliefs.
Jan Fries explores the spectrum of techniques from mudra to mantra, pranayama to puja, from kundalini arousal to purification to sexual rites, and makes them both accessible and relevant, translating them out of the Twilight Language of old texts and setting them in the context of both personal transformation and the historical evolution of traditions. The web of connections between Tantra and Chinese Alchemy and Taoism are explored as the author weaves together many of the previously disparate strands of philosophies and practices. This book challenges the reader to dream, delight, and develop, and provides an illustrated guidebook on how to do so.
Bliss awaits those who dare.

GODS OF THE RUNES:
THE DIVINE SHAPERS OF FATE
Frank Joseph (Author), Ian Daniels (Illustrator)
Paperback: 200 pages
Publisher: Bear & Company (November 11, 2010)
List Price: $18.00

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
The ancient origins and divinatory power of the runes

• Uncovers the original divinatory meaning of each rune through the myths of its corresponding Norse god or goddess

• Includes beautiful full-color illustrations of the runic gods and goddesses

• Presents rune-casting spreads for divination and character analysis

• Explores the controversial history of runes from the Paleolithic Stone Age to today

Invented long before the appearance of the runic alphabet Futhark less than two thousand years ago, the runes were originally created as symbols for specific deities. Representing the twenty-four Norse gods and goddesses from the Vanir and Aesir pantheons, the runes provide a way to establish direct contact with the divine shapers of fate.

Based on the work of Austrian mystic and runologist Guido von List and anthropologist Marija Gimbutas as well as the oldest rune artifacts to survive from pre-Christian Europe, this book reveals the long history of runes from their appearances in Paleolithic cave paintings through their rechristening in Medieval times to their modern resurgence as a popular tool of divination. It uncovers the original names and divinatory meanings of each rune by exploring the myths, personality traits, astrological periods, identifying colors, and gemstones of the rune’s corresponding god or goddess. It also illustrates and explains five ancient rune-casting spreads used by Norse adepts for divination as well as character analysis. By renewing their link with the divine, Gods of the Runes shows how working with the runes can be a genuine mystical experience, enabling a personal connection with the gods and a rediscovery of their perennial truths.

FROM THE BACK COVER:
At last we have a handy reference, lavishly illustrated, that tells the reader which god or goddess corresponds with which rune, for the entire Futhark. Gods of the Runes should be in every occultist’s library.”

TAROT READINGS / SPIRITUAL ADVICE

UNCOMMONSENSE TAROT
Tarot readings by Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

“ I've been reading Tarot for more than thirty years, and reading professionally at the Edge for nearly a decade. My belief is that Tarot is best used for putting you in touch with your own subconscious, allowing you to make healthy decisions that can change your life for the better. My readings tend to be rather commonsensical (hence the name) and are geared toward helping the client circumvent the often self-imposed obstacles in their lives, so that they can achieve their goals and fully enjoy the fruits that life has to bring.”

Please inquire about Tarot Parties, classes and other events.
Available every day except THURSDAYS-- 12:30-8.30PM.
Sundays 12:30-8:30 PM

*
TAROT BY COMPASS
Every THURSDAY from 12:30-8:30 PM

“I've been reading cards for 20 years and doing readings professionally for nine. I've been reading cards at folk life and Bumbershoot for nine years along with various fairs and festivals on the west coast.

I believe the tarot works as an interpersonal growth tool that on some levels works like the childhood game of "broken telephone." Everyone of the 78cards in a tarot deck have a central meaning. Depending on where they fall in a spread, how they are dignified, and any colloquial non-sequiturs that happen to come out of my mouth create a personalized story of what's going on in ones life. The cards are great about "speaking" of the past and present. They can pick up on energies that are starting to manifest in ones life but ultimately after a reading is over everyone has free will and it is their choice how they deal with those energies. My job as a reader is multifaceted, from channel to help alleviate blocks; to sounding board as a listener. I've found that I get a wonderful thankful response from people I've given readings to.”
