NUMEROLOGY REPORT
FOR THE NEW YEAR: 2011
By Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

2011 is a “4” year.

This means that discipline, control and hard work will pay off. People seem a little more close-minded under this influence-- and conflicts on the world stage may develop over pettiness and territorial disagreements.

This is also a year to be patient and frugal. This may be a good year for construction workers-- a lot of building gets done under a “4” influence.

On the other hand, the economy may strengthen—this is a good year for building firm foundations. 4 is about being rational, sometimes being a bit rigid, and as the number of The Emperor Tarot card-- may point to world leaders becoming more important in our scope of vision.

The “2” in 2011 may bring the need for people to have more compassion and be willing to help others, to listen: to be peacemakers. The “2” Card in the Tarot is The High Priestess. She brings us the challenge to listen to our gut—and “feel” one's way through difficulty. There may also be slow, gradual improvement in people' s lives, overall.

The “0” brings spiritual gifts, but also a certain mystery – a sense of unknowing, so expect surprises this year. This is also the number of the Tarot Card “The Fool”, and brings new adventures, new and exiting paths and journeys and new and innovative ways of doing things.

“11” is a Master Number-- and heralds a year where visionaries take center stage. In our own lives it may mean that we must be willing to use more imagination to solve problems . Think outside the box! This could be a great year for entrepreneurs.

“11” is also the number of the the Tarot card “Justice” in some decks, in others, its the number of the “Strength” card. So, this may be a good year to put one's life in balance, create harmony and deal with difficult situations with diplomacy and tact. This is also a great time to focus on getting one's body into shape.

Spiritual people will also find opportunities to expand in new directions this year-- and their abilities to help others and “walk their talk” may be among the challenges they must embrace. Spiritual practices must be balanced with hard work, altruism, and vision this year.

Because “11” brings the energy of Illumination—many things may become clear to us that were previously obscured.

THE SHAMAN'S ORACLE:
ORACLE CARDS FOR ANCIENT WISDOM AND GUIDANCE
By John Matthews and Wil Kinghan
Hardcover: 80 pages
Publisher: Watkins; Har/Crds edition (March 2, 2010)
Language: English

BOOK BLURB:
This innovative oracle is the first to connect us directly to the wisdom of our prehistoric ancestors. Modern-day shaman John Matthews and shamanic artist Wil Kinghan have created a special deck of 52 cards inspired by cave art from around the world, and their unique system can help us find answers to life’s most vital questions. The cards represent five archetypes—Spirits, Ancestors, Hunters, Dancers, and Shamans—each intimately connected with a different aspect of human experience. The evocative images touch on our ancestral memories and subconscious forces that influence our thoughts, feelings, and actions at the deepest level of being.
By John Matthews and Wil Kinghan.

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
The underlying principle is that the human hand is an ideogram for the Cave Dweller’s world through which the Seeker journeys, or from which the spirits emerge. The 52 cards are divided into five tribes – Spirits, Ancestors, Hunters, Dancers and Shamans – each representing a different aspect of human experience. As the cards are drawn, they reveal an oracle that will help to guide the Seeker on his quest for answers.

The images are not only very beautiful, but they also touch on the deepest memories we possess. The cave art is found all over the world; in Europe, China, the Americas and Australia.

List Price: $24.95
The Tao Oracle is a visual I-Ching- a beautiful and dazzling new tool for self transformation, enlightenment, and personal growth.

"Meditation is that hundred and eighty degree turn that strengthens our capacity to trust, as it puts us in touch with a silent, guiding force that is far greater than ourselves in its wisdom, support and sustaining capacity. To relax into the flow of the Tao in its unfoldment is to experience being 'at home in life.' This meditation takes us to what has been called the still point, the center of the cyclone, the great silence, the inner Himalayan peaks." --Ma Padma

The Tao Oracle speaks to the individual through a language of archetypes and symbolism that can expose a deeper truth of the dynamics of change as it impacts our daily lives.

TAROT READINGS / SPIRITUAL ADVICE

UNCOMMONSENSE TAROT
Tarot readings by Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

“ I've been reading Tarot for more than thirty years, and reading professionally at the Edge for nearly a decade. My belief is that Tarot is best used for putting you in touch with your own subconscious, allowing you to make healthy decisions that can change your life for the better. My readings tend to be rather commonsensical (hence the name) and are geared toward helping the client circumvent the often self-imposed obstacles in their lives, so that they can achieve their goals and fully enjoy the fruits that life has to bring.” Please inquire about Tarot Parties, classes and other events.
Available every day except THURSDAYS-- 12:30-8.30PM. Sundays 12:30-8:30 PM

*
TAROT BY COMPASS
Every THURSDAY from 12:30-8:30 PM

“I've been reading cards for 20 years and doing readings professionally for nine. I've been reading cards at folk life and Bumbershoot for nine years along with various fairs and festivals on the west coast.

I believe the tarot works as an interpersonal growth tool that on some levels works like the childhood game of "broken telephone." Everyone of the 78cards in a tarot deck have a central meaning. Depending on where they fall in a spread, how they are dignified, and any colloquial non-sequiturs that happen to come out of my mouth create a personalized story of what's going on in ones life. The cards are great about "speaking" of the past and present. They can pick up on energies that are starting to manifest in ones life but ultimately after a reading is over everyone has free will and it is their choice how they deal with those energies. My job as a reader is multifaceted, from channel to help alleviate blocks; to sounding board as a listener. I've found that I get a wonderful thankful response from people I've given readings to.”
