THE
MORIBUND PORTAL
By
Richard Gavin
FROM THE
PUBLISHER:
Beyond its
vulgar function as a means of execution, the Gallows has long served
as a source of occult power. From the severed appendage of the thief
that becomes the Hand of Glory, to the fallen seed that spawns the
mandrake root, the Hanging Place is awash in the sinistral ambiance
of ancient sorcery.
Richard
Gavin weaves together threads of folklore, spiritism, and occult
philosophy to create a tapestry of grim vitality. The Moribund
Portal: Spectral Resonance and the Numen of the Gallows examines the
subtle yet potent symbiosis that exists between the incarnate world
and the realm of the Dead. This book’s exploration of the liminal
space between firmament and earth, where Odin perceived the runes and
Christ witnessed the celestial kingdom, illuminates the macabre
portal through which one may glimpse the Otherworld.
The
Moribund Portal is 96 pages, featuring an interior design by Joseph
Uccello and and original cover by Benjamin Vierling, and is available
in three editions:
Softcover,
limited to 1,700 copies in total - $23.50
Limited
Hardcover, consisting of 500 hand-numbered hardcover copies in gilt
Tyrian purple cloth - $45.00

THE
CELESTIAL ART
Edited
by Austin Coppock and Daniel Schulke
FROM THE
PUBLISHER:
It is a
fact of history that the origins of magic and medicine are rooted in
the Starry Wisdom of the ancients. Their intersection is evident at
numerous and varied points on the timeline. Crumbling stellar-aligned
temple complexes, fragmentary Graeco-Egyptian spell books, medieval
grimoires and early modern apothecary manuals all testify to the deep
enmeshment of the terrestrial and celestial.
Astrology
is, in essence, an occult science, whose principles underlie the vast
majority of the hermetic tradition. Beyond the observation of stars
and planets for omens auguring future events, the diverse celestial
powers of the firmament have been drawn upon by heuristic and
thaumaturgic magic. Carefully timed and engraved talismans sought to
imbue earthly matter with the luminous power of planets and stars.
What radiates in the heavens also gives forth its power on earth: in
herbs, stones, animals, and in the affairs of humanity. Magicians
have long sought to direct those emanations, to shape the below by
means of the above.
Yet since
the disastrous disenchantment of the Western world, above and below
have drifted apart, and the fruit of their union, the Celestial Art,
has withered. This enfeeblement, however, has begun to reverse. Fresh
flowers and ripe fruits appear again, as translations of the
fundamental texts of magic and astrology restore to each art its
roots, and reveal the many points at which the two great trees
embrace and entwine.
The
Celestial Art gathers together twelve essays on specific aspects of
astrological magic, examining essence and practical application.
Among the topics of research are Vedic Astrology, Alchemy, Greek
Astrological Herbalism, the Planetary Magic of the Sābians of
ancient Harrān, the place of the Celestial Art in early modern
British Magic, and practical planetary sorcery.

THE
WICKED SHALL DECAY
By A.
D. Mercer
FROM THE
PUBLISHER:
Even after
the practice of witch-hunting and persecution began to wane, malefic
sorcery was greatly feared as a baneful and pernicious influence,
particularly in rural areas during the 18th and 19th century. The
arsenal of folk-magical armaments against such powers included
charms, spells, rituals, sigils, and magical squares, as well as the
use of magical herbs and words of power. Many of these practices
resembled in method and materiel the very evil they were meant to
combat, embodying in themselves a savour of the sinister and demonic.
Accessing a
diverse array of historical and folkloric sources, A.D. Mercer's The
Wicked Shall Decay gathers together a collection of obscure British
magic featuring curses, anti-witchcraft spells and hedges against
malevolent power. Greatly treasured in their day for their efficacy,
these rites document a widespread tradition of ‘dark folk magic’
of value to the research of both scholar and esoteric practitioner
alike.
The Wicked
Shall Decay is 168 pages, printed offset litho in red and black inks
on heavy stock, with 31 woodcut illustrations throughout.
Paperback-$27.00
