To Craig Luckenbach for his poetry...

By Craig Luckenbach

By Craig Luckenbach

Oh great Lucifer
Hesperus are you called
who wanders the night sky
psychopomp and ghostherd
followed by the sparks, fireflies, the soul lights
you may be Hermes, or Elegua, Woden or Prometheus
you whose fire is an errant spirit, whose flames burn as well as illuminate
you whose gifts are not to be treated lightly
Great Emperor who wanders
who travels from the Realm of Darkness and the Dead
to the supernal Realms of the Sun and Immortals
you who travels the winds of night and day
Hail great Spirit
I bow in respect to thee oh great and venerable one
I call to you
hear my request if it please you and render me aid if you will
Life Liberty and Strength be to You

By Craig Luckenbach

" I stand before thee, oh spirits
one infleshed in matter
I am human, a child of the Earth and Stars
and I seek to earn my self given title of Wise Wise Ape
In the presence of the totality of Nature and the All.
Though I seek wisdom I have many times been foolish as I progress in my lessons in this life.
All I can ask is that you be patient and, if possible to forgive my mistakes.
Aid me to earn the name of Wise One.
I acknowledge that I truly know you not though I shall strive to respectfully learn.
I seek knowledge tempered with wisdom in order to make of this world a better place.
For I stand before you all upon the foundation of Life, Liberty and Happiness, its pursuit and attainment
for all sentient beings. I stand against the Oppression of the unfulfillable Hunger and the destructive
Ignorance that leads only to Oblivion
I ask for the guidance so that my works,
whether small or grand of design,
will further this foundation and aid us all be we infleshed in so called matter
or existing in the vibrational realms of the spirit world.
Aid me to resist the Qliphotic Hunger, the Willful Ignorance, the Unbalanced Wrath,
the Unreasoning Fear.
Let Wisdom's Flame grow and purge the oppression from my Life
May this fire spread from heart to heart, from soul to soul, from sentience to sentience.
Respect to you all
So mote it be."

"My name is Craig Luckenbach, I am a Warlock and Artist who believes that life, liberty and happiness applies to the spirit worlds as well as this world of the flesh. I am currently working with the Exus, the Ghedes and the Goetic spirits, letting them guide me in creating a respectful way of approach."

By William Kiesel
Monograph No. 3 – June 2012

With the center of the circle as a starting point, orientation can take on precise meaning in the context of its ritual, which was designed to secure spiritual knowledge and material dominion in the world through the agency of spirits, stars and cabalistic arcana.

Magic Circles have been depicted in popular expressions of magic and witchcraft as well as detailed with full rubrics in traditional manuals of magic such as the Clavicula Solomonis or Liber Juratus. Using narrative, visual and textual material available from European grimoires and manuscripts, the author discusses the various forms and functions of this important piece of apparatus employed by magicians in the Western Esoteric Tradition, including their role in providing authority and protection to the operator, as well as examples of their use in divination and treasure finding. Additionally, contemporary examples of the magic circle at work in modern esoteric praxis are provided and discussed in light of the traditional approaches they exhibit. This monograph serves to explicate this important tool of ceremonial magic and is valuable to practitioners of the art magical with its technical data, while also providing context in historical settings for the merely curious reader of occult subjects. Illustrated throughout.

The author also has his own publishing company, OUROBOROS PRESS, and organizes the ESOTERIC BOOK CONFERENCE, to be held in Seattle.

THOTH: The History Of The
Ancient Egyptian God Of Wisdom
By Lesley Jackson
Paperback: 226 pages
Publisher: Avalonia (April 30, 2012)
List Price: $24.99

"Hail to you, O Thoth, in whom is the peace of the gods."
The Ancient Egyptian Coffin Texts, Spell 9 In Thoth: The History of the Ancient Egyptian God of Wisdom, the author and researcher Lesley Jackson presents a comprehensive and wide-ranging study of this unique god spanning six millennia. Drawing on the latest archaeological and textual research, from magical papyri and stelae to statues and wall carvings, the author explores Thoth's diverse functions including as god of writing, magic and wisdom, creator god, judge, healer, psychopomp, reckoner of time and lunar god. Developing from pre-dynastic origins, the worship of Thoth is discussed through the different Egyptian social classes from peasant to Pharaoh, and placed in the context of ancient Egyptian rituals and festivals; as is the later syncretisation of Thoth with the Greco-Egyptian figure of Hermes Trismegistus. In so doing the author demonstrates the pivotal role that the ibis-headed god fulfilled in many of the Egyptian myths and his functions within the three main Egyptian theologies - i.e. Heliopolitan, Hermopolitan and Memphite. The names, animals and symbols of Thoth, lord of ritual and of words, are all considered to further reveal his complex nature, which is also viewed through the web of connections between Thoth and the numerous other Egyptian gods. Particular attention is given to his consorts, the goddesses Maat, Seshat and Nehmataway, and the implications of their relationships. This extensive and detailed work is supplemented with ancient hymns to Thoth and a survey of temples associated with him. Long overdue, Thoth: The History of the Ancient Egyptian God of Wisdom is an unmissable work on this most enduring of gods.

"Come that I may instruct you concerning...the writing which Thoth gave to the hand of his disciple."
The Ancient Egyptian Book of Thoth

Tarot readings by Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

" I've been reading Tarot for more than thirty years, and reading professionally at the Edge for a decade. My belief is that Tarot is best used for putting you in touch with your own subconscious, allowing you to make healthy decisions that can change your life for the better. My readings tend to be rather commonsensical (hence the name) and are geared toward helping the client
circumvent the often self-imposed obstacles in their lives, so that they can achieve their goals and fully enjoy the fruits that life has to bring."

Please inquire about Tarot Parties, classes and other events. Available every day except THURSDAYS-- 12:30-8.30PM. Sundays 12:30-8:30 PM
