Paul is an unashamed eclectic, describing himself in his books as a Psychic Questing, Reiki, Crowley, Mother Meera, Fellowship of Isis, Adi Da, Druid, Osho, Scientology, Gurdjieff, Anthony Robbins firewalking, Kriya Yoga, UFOlogical, Avalon of the Heart, 2012 kind of guy. Having completed a degree in the Study of Comparative Religion (for which he produced a dissertation on Nazi Occultism) in 1983, Paul moved on to a period working as a hypnotherapist. Meeting Andrew Collins in 1988, he became seriously involved in psychic questing and makes appearances in 3 of Collins' books of that time, The Seventh Sword, The Circlemakers, and The Second Coming. Moving to Glastonbury in 1995 he immediately began a four-year period of a hundred public presentations on esoteric topics. From there he progressed to ten years of writing which resulted in his inter-related first three books, Mysterium Artorius, Aleister Crowley and the Aeon of Horus, and Avalonian Aeon. The sequence will be completed with the publication (hopefully by the end of 2010) of Aquarian Phoenix. As a long-term resident he is passionately interested in all aspects of the total Glastonbury package of history and mythology and the current extraordinary spontaneous social experiment that the town itself represents. Paul is currently once again engaging in an extensive sequence of lectures to promote his books.

CRAFT OF THE UNTAMED:
AN INSPIRED VISION OF TRADITIONAL WITCHCRAFT
By Nicholaj de Mattos Frisvold
Hardcover: 184 pages
Publisher: Mandrake; Large type edition edition (March 21, 2011)
List Price: $46.00

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
The Craft of the Untamed sets out to present the main pillars of traditional witchcraft. Its premise is that a proper tradition is defined as a timeless unity. Outwardly the tradition bears a great diversity across different lands and spirit. Traditional witchcraft is found in various sodalities and groups across the world. Even so it is possible to discern several harmonious, shared themes. These themes are the land, the crossroads, death, night and the mountain of Venus. It is witchcraft where a human and angelic blood mingles to form a special pedigree that has shaped the archetypical image of the witch. Traditional witchcraft is largely a peasant craft. These "black arts" are works of the earth and the black soil with all its mystery of death, growth and change. This book aims to present the craft free for needless obscuration. I have endeavored to reveal the richness of the tradition as it flows down through time and geographical space. The reader will come to appreciate and understand the wise arts both infernal and celestial; the powers wielded by the denizens of the night will be accessible; and you will come to value them for their beauty and power.

Contents: Foreword by Shani Oates/Introduction//At the Crossroads of the Worlds/Solomonic Magick//The Blood of the Living Bones/Within the Mountain of Dame Venus/The Vinculum of Eros/The Art of Timeless Tradition/Within the Veil of Night/Against the Current

THE ARCANE VEIL:
TEN DISCOURSES ON THE CRAFT AND THE HISTORY OF MAGIC
By Shani Oates
Hardcover: 302 pages
Publisher: Mandrake; Large type edition edition (September 21, 2011)
List Price: $40.00

The Arcane Veil: “an 'analogue of Craft historiography, brought up to date through the author's own experiential praxis'”

A discursive investigation of magical beliefs and practises in England since 600CE to the post-modern fall-out of the 21st century, analysing in particular its influences and survival strategies. Emphasis is placed on Christian, Heathen, and Hermetic Praxis, with provocative, critical study of the concepts of Lucifer, Witch-Blood, Sin-Eating and their influences on modern Traditional Craft praxes.

"A driving thirst for knowledge is the forerunner of wisdom. Knowledge is a state that all organic life possesses, wisdom is the reward of the spirit, gained in the search for knowledge. Truth is variable - what is true now, will not be true tomorrow, since the temporal truths are dependent upon ethics and social mores - therefore wisdom is possibly eternal Truth, untouched by man's condition. So we must come to the heart of the people, a belief that is based upon Eternity, and not upon social needs or pressures - the 'witch' belief then is concerned with wisdom, our true name, then the wise people and wisdom is our aim." - Robert Cochrane 1931-1966

Elizabeth Guerra (Author), R J Stewart (Foreword), Janet Farrar (Contributor)
Paperback: 232 pages
Publisher: R J Stewart Books (February 1, 2008)

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

In 1969, at the age of 53, Stewart met Alex Sanders - the infamous "King of the Witches" - and his wife Maxine while interviewing the couple for Reveille. The encounter introduced him to a world of Witchcraft and magic and changed the course of his life. Stewart Farrar found Witchcraft by accident but devoted the rest of his life to the subject by educating others. He became one of the most prolific and much loved writers on the subject, and in doing so, helped to make Wicca a viable and accessible spiritual path for many.

OLD WORLD WITCHCRAFT:
ANCIENT WAYS FOR MODERN DAYS
By Raven Grimassi
Paperback: 272 pages
Publisher: Weiser Books (October 1, 2011)
List Price:$19.95

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
In Old World Witchcraft, noted author Raven Grimassi covers totally new territory--in his work and in the world of popular witchcraft books published in the last few decades. This book is actually about "an enchanted worldview," one that has not necessarily been inherited from the beliefs and practices of any particular region and one which is available to us today.

The "Old World" in the title is actually about a magical view of the Plant Kingdom and the spirits attached to it. While Grimassi's previous books discuss the cultural expressions and commonality of witchcraft beliefs and practices in general, this book penetrates much deeper.

Old World Witchcraft reveals rarely discussed topics such as the concept of Shadow as the organic memory of the earth. Readers will learn rooted techniques that possess power because these ways have always been connected to it. They will learn methods of interfacing with the ancestral current and with the organic memory of the earth. Through these they can connect with the timeless arts and learn methods of empowerment directly from the ancient source.

Totally new information about familiar tools is presented. For example, the mortar and pestle is a tool for spell casting, a device that creates interfacing with plant spirits and with shadow, and a focal point for veneration of the Plant Kingdom. Grimassi also presents the art of using plant ashes for magical sigil work.

This book is for people who have had their fill of books that say the same things over and over, who want to take the next step, and who are eager for the more rooted ways that have remained largely hidden.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Raven Grimassi is a Neo-Pagan scholar and award-winning author of over twelve books on Witchcraft, Wicca, and Neo-Paganism, including Italian Witchcraft. He is a member of the American Folk Lore Society and is co-founder and co-director of the Crossroads Fellowship, a modern Mystery School tradition. Visit him online at www.ravengrimassi.net

SECRETS OF ASGARD:
AN INSTRUCTION
IN ESOTERIC RUNE WISDOM
By Vincent Ongkowidjojo (Author), David Beth (Introduction), Freya Aswynn (Foreword)
Paperback: 296 pages
Publisher: Mandrake; Large type edition edition (August 1, 2011)
List Price: $23.00

FROM THE PUBLISHER:
A very long time ago Odin unlocked the secrets of the Runes. In two parts, Secrets of Asgard discusses their theoretical and a practical aspects. Part one focuses centers on the meaning of the individual runes and the myths, explaining the Aettir alongside Northern mythology. It describes each of the gods as well as the Nine Worlds etc. The second part centers on the application of the system, namely magic and divination and includes rituals and exercises. A thesis of practical rune magic is developed which is based on the Havamal 144 stanza. The analysis concludes that the Runes were traditionally regarded as actual spirits. The stanza explains how to make your own set as well as other talismanic objects. The practice of galdr-singing is discussed in more depth to complement the Havamal 144 techniques. Then, a discourse is given on the most common Ancient Germanic magical formulae. They complement the practical work on talismanic objects. A separate chapter is given on divinatory practices. Useful information on dreamwork is added and numerous other exercises used to make contact with the subconscious mind through auto-suggestion, and many other useful ritual techniques and practices.

TAROT READINGS / SPIRITUAL ADVICE

UNCOMMONSENSE TAROT
Tarot readings by Erica (Raven) Branch-Butler

" I've been reading Tarot for more than thirty years, and reading professionally
at the Edge for a decade. My belief is that Tarot is best used for
putting you in touch with your own subconscious, allowing you to make healthy
decisions that can change your life for the better. My readings tend to be
rather commonsensical (hence the name) and are geared toward helping the client
circumvent the often self-imposed obstacles in their lives, so that they can
achieve their goals and fully enjoy the fruits that life has to bring."
