The Ekklesia Antinoou (a queer,Graeco-Roman-Egyptian syncretist reconstructionist polytheist religious group) is celebrating its most important ritual, Foundation Day, on Tuesday Oct. 30 in Seattle. While people will be celebrating elsewhere in diverse locations, and certainly anyone and everyone who cares to do so may celebrate on their own in whatever way they choose,
I do hope that some of you reading this might be able to make the Seattle observance.
It will be from 6 to 9 PM, this Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Edge of the Circle Books, which is located at 701 East Pike Street, on the corner of Pike and Boylston, just two blocks west off Broadway on Capitol Hill.
Those attending are asked to bring a small rock (which will be "cast away," so nothing you are hoping to get back), a coin donation that you don't plan to reclaim (pennies work great!), and a completely optional and free-will donation of any size which will be given in its entirety to Lambert House, Seattle's LGBTQ youth drop-in center.
We are a religious group that is based on conduct and practice, not on creed or dogma, so no questions of or requirements for particular styles of belief or orthodoxy will occur as a prerequisite to participation; if you want to come, you are more than welcome! Anyone,
regardless of sexual orientation, age, gender, disability status, ethnicity or race, economic status, education, or religious affiliation (or lack thereof) may attend.
